Ali Schoen, Director of Design
What do you enjoy most about working at Arbee Associates?
Working with people that have been with the company for 15+ years. Working with people for that long creates a sense of family.
What has been your favorite project or most memorable client experience?
Working on the US Pharmacopeia project. It was a huge restack of more than 1,200 employees. Nancy Berkowitz was interviewed as a possible teaming partner by the client and as a result, the project was awarded to Arbee Associates. Olga Marchetti owned the design portion with Robin Wakefield assisting.
I was involved in the Pilot Space and the first phase of the project. We had to meet individually with every end user to determine what they wanted in their stations so every seat was unique. In addition, the client selected seven color schemes to be applied based on departments. Each department was allowed to select their own finishes within a color way and decide all ancillary for their group.
We had to pick hundreds of finishes and create boards for each department. There were also Privacy Wall and Thread applications. The project encompassed everything we love to do as designers.
If you could switch your job with anyone else at Arbee Associates, whose job would you want? Why?
Marketing. It would be fun and challenging to build the brand and expand our cyber presence.
Do you pile or file at work? Explain.
Neither! 98% of my files are electronic.
Name (3) words to describe you.
Loud. Empathetic. Problem-solver.
What is your favorite lunchtime meal during the work week?
Chicken Gyro from WOW Deli.
What is one movie, music cd or book that inspires you to do great things?
Gone with the Wind.
What is the one thing that you most want clients to know about working with you and Arbee Associates?
We care about the customer and work very hard to provide the best solutions to fit their individual needs.
